Overview
This cable is a modified version of the neoVI-OBD-CAN-1 cable, which converts the DB-25M connector on Intrepid hardware devices to OBD-II and DB-9 connectors. The RAD-Star OBD-II Flashing/Power Cable includes CAN termination on the DB-9 connector to permit flashing the firmware on a connected RAD-Star (see main diagram above).
Details
Since the RAD-Star's DB-9 connection provides power to the device, this cable must be used with a powered OBD-II port (including power and ground lines) for the RAD-Star to function.
Once properly connected, you can flash the RAD-Star's firmware in Vehicle Spy by following these steps:
- Open the CoreMini Console.
- Click the neoECU (CAN) tab.
- Select the HSCAN3 network in the dropdown box (see yellow highlighting in diagram below).
- Click the Poll for neoECUs button. Your RAD-Star should appear in the white box to the left.
- Select the RAD-Star and click the Flash Firmware button.
